The Contour BarTM With Grit

The same flexible bar, with pumice through the mix. It holds its shape on the shelf, bends in your hand, and follows your body. The grit wears down with the bar, so the scrub stays even.

$20 · 30+ washes for most people

Overview

A flat, rigid exfoliating bar on a curved shoulder, elbow, or knee puts all the friction on one small spot and misses the skin around it.

With Grit bends to wrap the joint, so the pumice meets a wider area. The grains sit in a flexible bar and give a little if you press hard, which keeps the scrub from feeling like sandpaper.

With Grit is for rough skin and post-workout days, below the neck, hands, and feet. Not for the face.

Your first wash

Wet the bar, work it between your palms until you have a lather, wash, rinse, and set it where it can dry.

  1. 01

    Lather.

Wet it and scrub with even pressure.

  2. 02

    Pat dry.

A towel is enough. The pumice stays in the bar.

  3. 03

Pack it or set it down.

Gym bag, dopp kit, or any dry spot.

With Grit is for below the neck, hands, and feet only.

Everyday use

Traditional grit soap (F10) wears unevenly. The soap goes before the grit, so the bar turns harsh and leaves loose grit in the dish.

The pumice in The Contour BarTM With Grit stays mixed through the bar as it wears down. For most people that is 30+ washes. It does not crack into sharp pieces. Let it dry out of standing water between uses.

Wet the bar and work it between your palms, or on a cloth, until you have a lather. Then wash as you normally would. Use a light hand. The pumice does the work. Keep it below the neck, on hands, and on feet.

It flexes the same wet or dry, in hot water or cold. Warm water is for lather, not for waking the bar up.

Care and storage

Keep it out of standing water. Set Smooth or With Grit on a ledge, a wire rack, or any dry surface between showers. A soap dish is optional. If it stays wet it may soften, then returns to its original feel once it dries.

For travel: rinse, pat dry with your towel, and put it in your bag. You do not need a slotted plastic case. Replace the bar when it is worn thin and the wash no longer feels like enough. Most people get 30 or more washes first.

It’s designed and made in the US, ingredients and packaging included, and the packaging is plastic-free.

Questions and help

  • How do I use it for the first time?

Wet the bar, work it between your palms to build lather, wash as you normally would, then rinse. Afterward, set it somewhere it can drain and dry.

  • How should I store it between showers?

Set it out where it can dry between uses. You can use a soap dish if you like, but you don't need one. Keeping a bar constantly wet is what softens it, so don't leave it sitting in a puddle.

  • My bar feels softer than usual. Is something wrong?

Probably not. A bar softening while you wash is normal, and if it's kept wet continuously it may soften more. Let it dry a bit and it returns to its original feel and size. If it still doesn't feel right, tell us and we'll look into it.

  • Can I use it on my face?

No. The Contour BarTM and The Contour BarTM With Grit are body bars, so please don't use either one on your face.
