Product guide
The Contour BarTM
The world’s first flexible cleansing bar. It holds its shape on the shelf, bends in your hand, and follows your body as you wash. For most people it lasts 30+ washes, and it wears down instead of falling apart.
$20 · 30+ washes for most people
Overview
Your body has no flat surfaces, yet traditional soap is a flat, unyielding block. When you press a hard bar against a rounded shoulder, ankle, or knee, only a small edge actually touches your skin.
Under light pressure, The Contour BarTM yields in the hand and bends along its length to follow a shoulder, ankle, or knee. Set it down, and it springs back to its classic shape.
Smooth is the everyday bar for washing your body. Not for the face.

Everyday use
Traditional bar soap (F10) is a relic of factory stamping. It shoots out of wet hands, dents when it hits the tile, turns into a paste in a wet dish, and cracks into sharp slivers before you can finish it.
The Contour BarTM keeps the concentrated, plastic-free simplicity of a classic bar and leaves those problems behind. Drop it, and it absorbs the impact without denting the bar or bruising your foot. Leave it out of standing water, and it stays a bar.
Wet the bar and work it between your palms, or on a cloth, until you have a lather. Then wash as you normally would.
It flexes the same wet or dry, in hot water or cold. Warm water is for lather, not for waking the bar up.
Care and storage
Keep it out of standing water. Set Smooth or With Grit on a ledge, a wire rack, or any dry surface between showers. A soap dish is optional. If it stays wet it may soften, then returns to its original feel once it dries.
For travel: rinse, pat dry with your towel, and put it in your bag. You do not need a slotted plastic case. Replace the bar when it is worn thin and the wash no longer feels like enough. Most people get 30 or more washes first.

Questions and help
- How do I use it for the first time?
Wet the bar, work it between your palms to build lather, wash as you normally would, then rinse. Afterward, set it somewhere it can drain and dry.
- How should I store it between showers?
Set it out where it can dry between uses. You can use a soap dish if you like, but you don't need one. Keeping a bar constantly wet is what softens it, so don't leave it sitting in a puddle.
- My bar feels softer than usual. Is something wrong?
Probably not. A bar softening while you wash is normal, and if it's kept wet continuously it may soften more. Let it dry a bit and it returns to its original feel and size. If it still doesn't feel right, tell us and we'll look into it.
- Can I use it on my face?
No. The Contour BarTM and The Contour BarTM With Grit are body bars, so please don't use either one on your face.
