Before your first shave, activate your STROPPi by rinsing it thoroughly. As you wash, the bar will brighten in color and become slightly slippery. After a few seconds, pat it dry or allow it air-dry completely—this will activate its natural cling. Once dry, press the bar firmly onto a smooth, non-porous surface in your shower such as tile, smooth stone, plastic, composite, or glass. Choose a spot close to where you regularly shave: chest height for face shaving.
Is your bar not sticking? Try mounting it to a glass panel, mirror, or even a handheld tile. Avoid textured surfaces like wood or stone, as they can prevent proper adhesion. Make sure the surface you choose is fully clean and dry before mounting.

For the smoothest shave, start with heat and hydration. Let warm water soak into your skin for a few minutes—especially when shaving coarse facial hair. This softens hair and opens pores, helping your razor glide more easily and reducing irritation. Before stropping, run warm water over your razor head. The heat improves blade performance and helps it pick up lubricant from the STROPPi more evenly. A well-hydrated shave is a smoother, more comfortable one.
The longer the stubble, the more important the pre-wash. A quick rinse with warm water helps remove excess oil and softens coarse hair, making for a smoother, cleaner shave.

Now it’s time to activate the STROPPi’s surface. Lightly wet the bar's surface. Do not soak the bar. Too much water can soften the bar, threatening its mount. Once wet, lubricate your razor by running your razor's head down the bar several times using gentle pressure. As you strop, you’ll see a gel-like coating build up on and between the blades. This is the STROPPi forming a protective barrier between blade and skin. Note: Never strop the bar in your hand; only when properly mounted.
For best results when stropping, use a multi-blade razor (three blades or more). Multi-blade razors distribute pressure more evenly across the bar’s surface as you strop, reducing wear on the bar and improving the consistency of your lubrication.

With your razor coated and skin prepped, begin shaving using short, controlled strokes. Allow the razor glide lightly. Do not apply too much pressure. After a few passes, re-strop your razor. Between passes, rinse your razor often, maintaining a proper glide for longer hair or tricky curves like your chin and upper lip. When you're finished, leave the bar mounted in place (no need to remove it). Wash your razor thoroughly and store it in a safe place.

On the top of the bar is the SOOTHi's glistening, moisturizing layer which features a combination of natural ingredients designed to nurture and soothe your skin. Beneath it lies a white, textured layer infused with fine grit and pumice. This layer is finely textured, allowing you to maintain control of the bar in your hand once wet. With that in mind, let's get started.
The SOOTHi was designed for use with water, but water can make its moisturizing layer alone very slippery. That’s why we built in a textured grip layer. The pumice and grit create micro-friction points that stay tacky when wet, so you can confidently handle the bar without dropping it.
Begin by rinsing the SOOTHi under warm water for a few seconds. This wetting activates the bar's moisturizing layer and softens it for a smoother application. While wetting the bar, we recommend also wetting your skin. This opens up your skin for rehydration and improves the SOOTHi's smooth application. Note that after wetting the bar, it will become slippery. To maintain a firm hold, grip the bar using its textured layer.
Wetting the bar does more than just clean it. Glycerin—our core moisturizing ingredient—activates with water, helping it soften and spread evenly across your skin.
Holding the bar firmly in hand, gently glide the SOOTHi across your skin, using smooth, even strokes. This process gently rehydrates your skin, reduces any skin redness or shaving irritation, and helps repair your outer skin barrier post shave. If you're using the SOOTHi as a daily moisturizer, simply wet any dry areas of your skin before application. If you begin to feel any drag or resistance, rewet the bar and your skin.
The SOOTHi is simple to use but surprisingly versatile. After shaving, apply it directly to damp skin using smooth, even passes. The bar easily contours to any patch of skin. It’s not just for your face—use it on your neck, chest, or any other area you've shaved.
Once finished, rinse and dry the SOOTHi to clean it for storage. When storing the bar, always place it flat on a clean surface. Always place the bar with the moisturizing layer facing up as its soft, absorbent texture can cause it to absorb surface residue over time. Also make sure the bar remains as dry as possible while stored for better wear and longterm product health. With proper storage, the SOOTHi will last for many weeks.
To extend the bar’s life, avoid leaving it submerged or sitting in pooled water. Excessive water exposure can swell and soften the bar over time, leading to premature wear. As a result, after each use, gently pat the bar dry and place it on a dry shelf, ledge, or soap dish with the grip layer facing down. The moisturizing layer is highly absorbent—so if it sits against a dirty shelf, washcloth, or anything wet, it might absorb it.

Will the STROPPi re-stick if I remove it?
Yes. The STROPPi is designed to be removed and re-stuck multiple times.
However, frequent repositioning can increase the risk of wear or damage over time. If you need to move it regularly—such as for daily use—we recommend mounting it to a handheld tile. This allows you to relocate it easily without repeatedly reapplying it to different surfaces. If traveling, stick the bar to a small card (like a credit card). This allows you to easy use and store the bar while on the go.
Can I use any razor with the STROPPi?
While most razors can technically be used with it, the STROPPi is specifically designed for cartridge-style razors with three or more blades.
We do not recommend using single-blade or double-blade safety razors. Multi-blade cartridges not only offer better safety during shaving but also apply more even pressure to both the bar and your blades as you strop, ensuring a smoother strop and a more consistent lubrication.
Can I use the STROPPi for shaping my beard or neckline?
Yes, you can! The STROPPi is especially well-suited for smooth shaves and trimming thinner facial hair with precision. Its clear formula lets you see exactly where you’re shaving, making it ideal for shaping beards or defining necklines without any guesswork.
Just keep in mind that when working with thicker or longer hair, you’ll need to strop the bar more frequently to maintain a smooth glide and avoid tugging. For the best experience, soak your hair and skin for 5 to 10 minutes beforehand to soften your hair and ensure a comfortable shave.
Does the SOOTHi stick like the STROPPi?
No, the SOOTHI is not designed to adhere vertically like the STROPPi. Instead, it should be stored flat on a clean surface —either in your shower or next to the sink.
Always rest it with the grip layer facing downward. The top moisturizing layer is specifically formulated to be absorbent and softens easily when wet, so placing it face-down can lead to unnecessary wear, contamination, or residue buildup. Proper storage helps preserve the bar’s performance and extends its usable life.
Is the SOOTHi safe for sensitive or acne-prone skin?
Yes—every product we make, including the SOOTHi, is formulated with sensitive skin in mind. The SOOTHi delivers a cooling, hydrating finish that soothes post-shave irritation and promotes a smoother, healthier complexion over time.
If you have acne-prone or reactive skin, the SOOTHi can still be a great fit. However, we strongly recommend washing your face beforehand to remove excess oil, dirt, or residue. Like many moisturizing products, the SOOTHi creates a protective layer on your skin—so for best results, start with a clean surface to avoid sealing in unwanted impurities.
Can I use the SOOTHi on my beard or stubble area?
The SOOTHI is designed for clean-shaven or closely trimmed skin. While it can still benefit areas with facial hair by promoting healthier, smoother skin, it’s not recommended for use over dense or untrimmed hair.
If you do choose to use it on areas with facial hair, expect slightly faster wear over time due to increased friction. We also recommend rinsing the bar thoroughly after each use to keep the moisturizing layer clean and effective.
