We believe personal care should never come at the planet’s expense. To us, design isn’t just about how a product looks or feels in your hand — it’s about how it lives in the world after you’re done using it. It's this full-cycle design that ensures a product is sustainable from production to disposal and beyond.
Ingredients That Care for You and the Planet
At SANSNiK, we don’t believe sustainability stops at packaging. It begins with the very core of our products: the ingredients. Every component in the STROPPi and SOOTHi is carefully selected not only for how it benefits your skin but also for how it breaks down in the environment after use. Together, they form a formula that is biodegradable, non-toxic, and fully safe for sensitive skin and ecosystems alike.
Here’s how each ingredient plays its part:
- Carrageenan – A natural thickener derived from red seaweed. In the STROPPi, it creates the smooth gel-like consistency that helps your razor glide without irritation. Being plant-based, it fully biodegrades and returns harmlessly to the earth.
- Hydrolyzed Collagen – A protein sourced from natural origins, hydrolyzed collagen helps retain moisture and promote skin elasticity. Once rinsed away, it breaks down quickly, posing no risk to waterways or wildlife.
- Mica – A naturally occurring mineral that gives the bars their subtle sheen. It’s completely inert and safe, leaving no toxic residues as it naturally settles back into the environment.
- Thyme Oil – Known for its antibacterial properties, thyme oil helps keep both the STROPPi and SOOTHi hygienic even in steamy showers. As a plant-derived oil, it degrades safely and avoids the risks associated with synthetic antimicrobial agents.
- Aloe – A long-standing skin soother, aloe hydrates and calms irritation post-shave. It’s renewable, biodegradable, and completely non-toxic, making it just as gentle on the environment as it is on your skin.
- Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) – Unlike harsher surfactants, our carefully dosed SLES is mild and biodegradable. It helps with foaming and rinsability, ensuring an effective but eco-conscious cleanse.
- Coco Glucoside – A gentle surfactant derived from coconut and sugar. Coco glucoside works with SLES to create a balanced, skin-friendly lather while remaining fully biodegradable and plant-based.
- Glycerin – A natural humectant that draws moisture into your skin, leaving it hydrated and soft. Ours is sustainably sourced and readily biodegradable.
- Distilled Water – The foundation that activates the bar and carries these ingredients into your shave. It leaves no trace—just hydration.
Biodegradability Doesn't End With Our Products...
When we say “biodegradable,” we mean every single component — not just the easy parts. From the shipping envelope to the label on top, everything we send you is designed to break down naturally and leave behind zero toxins, microplastics, or waste.
- Bubble Mailer: Unlike plastic mailers, our shipping envelope is made from plant-based, compostable materials. It fully biodegrades in home compost or landfill conditions.
- Shipping Label: Standard labels often use plastic films and adhesives. Ours don’t. They’re crafted from biodegradable paper and adhesive, so the entire package — label and all — returns safely to the earth.
- Informational Pamphlet: Printed on kraft paper, this pamphlet biodegrades as easily as a leaf in nature. You can recycle or compost it without worry.
- Product Sleeve: The sleeve protecting your product is made of the same biodegradable kraft paper, sturdy enough to ship but gentle enough to disappear once it’s discarded.
Have Questions? We’ve Got You Covered.
We believe good design starts with honesty. That’s why we don’t just say our products are eco-friendly—we explain how, and back it up. This FAQ is here to answer your most common questions so you can feel confident in what you’re buying.
How are you different from other ‘biodegradable’ claims?
Many companies use the term loosely. Some “biodegradable plastics” only break down in industrial facilities—or worse, leave microplastics behind. We don’t. Every material we use passes the test of full, safe biodegradability.
What does “non-toxic” mean in this context?
Consectetur adipiscing elit.
Do I need to compost it?
No special setup required. Whether it ends up in a home compost, industrial compost, or even a landfill, our materials will break down without leaving behind toxins or microplastics. A compost environment just speeds up the process.
How long does it take for your products to biodegrade?
Our formulas and packaging are designed to break down naturally in months, not decades. While timing can vary depending on environment (soil, compost, landfill), every part safely returns to the earth far faster than traditional plastics or mixed materials.
Does biodegradable or eco-friendly mean less effective?
Not at all. “Eco-friendly” doesn’t mean cutting corners—it means designing smarter. Our products are made to perform just as well (and often better) than conventional options. They’re durable in your hands, effective on your skin, and only break down when they’re no longer needed.
Think of it this way: sustainability is built into the design, not traded for performance. We refuse to put out a product that feels flimsy, works poorly, or falls apart early. Biodegradability is the final stage of the product’s life—not the compromise during its use.
Can I recycle the packaging instead?
Our packaging isn’t recyclable by design. Because it’s made to naturally break down, it doesn’t pass through recycling systems the same way plastics or cardboard do. Instead, it follows a simpler path: once discarded, it biodegrades on its own—leaving nothing harmful behind.
