Step-By-Step STROPPi Instructions

Let's begin by diving into the step-by-step instructions on how to use the STROPPi. Below we've included all the information you could ever want or need to moisturize and soothe your skin the right way. Want to know even more? Explore our attached pro tips that dive even deeper into each step.

Step 1

Step 1: Stick

When you remove the STROPPi from its packaging, it will have a soft feel to it. Before using it, you will need to fully rinse the bar for a few seconds and allow it to air-dry completely to activate its natural cling. Once dry, press the bar firmly onto a smooth, non-porous surface in your shower such as tile, smooth stone, plastic, composite, or glass. Choose a spot close to where you regularly shave and out of direct water spray: chest height works well for face shaving.

Is your bar not sticking? Try mounting it to a glass panel, mirror, or even a handheld tile. Avoid textured surfaces like wood or stone, as they can prevent proper adhesion. Make sure the surface you choose is fully clean and dry before mounting.

Step 2

Step 2: Wet

For the smoothest shave, start with heat and hydration. Let warm water soak into your skin for a few minutes, especially when shaving coarse facial hair. This softens hair and opens pores, helping your razor glide more easily and reducing irritation. Before stropping, run warm water over your razor head. The heat improves blade performance and helps it pick up lubricant from the STROPPi more evenly. A well-hydrated shave is a smoother, more comfortable one.

The longer the stubble, the more important the pre-wash. A quick rinse with warm water helps remove excess oil and softens coarse hair, making for a smoother, cleaner shave.

Step 3

Step 3: Strop

Now it’s time to activate the STROPPi’s surface. Lightly wet the bar's surface. Do not soak the bar. Too much water can soften the bar, threatening its mount. Once wet, lubricate your razor by running your razor's head down the bar several times using gentle pressure. As you strop, you’ll see a gel-like coating build up on and between the blades. This is the STROPPi forming a protective barrier between blade and skin. Note: Never strop the bar in your hand.

For best results when stropping, use a multi-blade razor (three blades or more). Multi-blade razors distribute pressure more evenly across the bar’s surface as you strop, reducing wear on the bar and improving the consistency of your lubrication.

For more information on picking the best razor or refining how you strop, check out our full article here.

Step 4

Step 4: Shave

With your razor coated and skin prepped, begin shaving using short, controlled strokes. Allow the razor to glide lightly. Do not apply too much pressure. After a few passes, re-strop your razor. Between passes, rinse your razor often, maintaining a proper glide for longer hair or tricky curves like your chin and upper lip. When you're finished, leave the bar mounted in place (no need to remove it). Rinse your razor thoroughly and store it in a safe place.

Feeling tugging or skipping? Give the STROPPi a quick re-strop before your next pass. It works best with frequent use—especially on thicker or coarser areas. Keep both your skin and the bar wet to ensure your razor glides smoothly while stropping and shaving.

Have Questions? We're Here To Help

From properly mounting your STROPPi to troubleshooting unexpected issues, we’re here to help every step of the way. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions, designed to give you clarity, confidence, and a smooth shaving experience so you can get set up and shaving the right way in no time.

Yes. The STROPPi is designed to be removed and re-stuck multiple times.

However, frequent repositioning can increase the risk of wear or damage over time. If you need to move it regularly (such as for daily use) we recommend mounting it to a handheld tile. This allows you to relocate it easily without repeatedly reapplying it to different surfaces. If traveling, stick the bar to a small card (like a credit card). This allows you to easy use and store the bar while on the go.

While most razors can technically be used with it, the STROPPi is specifically designed for cartridge-style razors with three or more blades.

We do not recommend using single-blade or double-blade safety razors. Multi-blade cartridges not only offer better safety during shaving but also apply more even pressure to both the bar and your blades as you strop, ensuring a smoother strop and a more consistent lubrication.

Yes, you can! The STROPPi is especially well-suited for smooth shaves and trimming thinner facial hair with precision. Its clear formula lets you see exactly where you’re shaving, making it ideal for shaping beards or defining necklines without any guesswork.

Just keep in mind that when working with thicker or longer hair, you’ll need to strop the bar more frequently to maintain a smooth glide and avoid tugging. For the best experience, soak your hair and skin for 5 to 10 minutes beforehand to soften your hair and ensure a comfortable shave.

For best results, we recommend mounting the STROPPi in an easy-to-reach area close to where you shave most often. If you shave facial hair, position the bar at head height to make re-stropping between passes simple and efficient. For shaving legs, underarms, or the bikini area, mount it lower for comfortable access, especially if you shave while seated.

For the most secure mounting and longest bar life, choose a smooth, uninterrupted, and non-porous surface such as large, polished tile, untextured plastic or composite, or smooth, preferably polished stone. Avoid textured, uneven, or porous areas, as they may compromise adhesion. Be sure the bar is completely dry before mounting and only moderately wetted during use; placing it in a spot with minimal direct shower spray helps prevent waterlogging, which can cause the bar to swell, soften, and become unstuck. By mounting the STROPPi close to your shaving area, on the right surface, and out of constant water flow, you’ll ensure a secure hold, extend the bar’s lifespan, and maintain peak stropping performance.

Water is the key to a smooth shave with the STROPPi.

One of the main advantages of the STROPPi is the fact it can act as a protective shaving lubricant that will not wash away in water rich environments. This unlocks a shave in which you can enjoy softer skin with a smoother, safer glide. All the benefits of a dry shave in the more ideal environment of a wet shave.

While you can't have too much water on your skin, you can have too much water on the STROPPi. Excessive soaking or prolonged direct spray can water-log the bar, causing it to delaminate from its mounting surface. Over time, water-logging can also soften the surface too much, leading to increased wear during stropping. As with all things—balance is key.

If the bar feels overly soft, changes texture, or starts slipping from the wall, stop wetting it. Allow it to air dry fully before using again.

The STROPPi is built for durability and designed to stay with you through weeks of smooth, consistent shaves. On average, it provides a minimum of 30 shaves or should last up to 12 weeks.

Its lifespan may vary depending on several factors including water type, shaving frequency, stropping pressure, and how often the bar has been moved or remounted. In most cases, it can last longer than 30 shaves, but if you notice rapid wear or unexpected signs of aging, please reach out to us—we’re here to help.

The SOOTHi For Women

The shave may be finished, but great skin care starts here. This quick start guide for The SOOTHi For Women is designed to walk you through everything you need to know to enjoy a smooth, hydrating glide. Begin by watching the quick start video here for a guided look at how to activate the bar with water and glide it smoothly over freshly shaved skin.

Once finished with the video, scroll below to explore step-by-step instructions and FAQs covering both post-shave use and everyday moisturizing. With its dual-layer design and slip-free grip, the SOOTHi is built to deliver effortless application and lasting comfort, whether you’ve just shaved or simply want healthier, more resilient skin.

Slow it down, treat your skin well, and enjoy the calm.

Step-By-Step SOOTHi Instructions

Let's begin by diving into the step-by-step instructions on how to use the SOOTHi. Below we've included all the information you could ever want or need to moisturize and soothe your skin the right way. Want to know even more? Explore our attached pro tips that dive even deeper into each step.

Step 1

Step 1: Grip

Before getting started, let’s take a look at the SOOTHi’s dual-layer design. On the top of the bar is the SOOTHi's glistening, moisturizing layer which features a combination of natural ingredients designed to nurture and soothe your skin. Beneath it lies a white, textured layer infused with fine grit and pumice. This layer is finely textured, allowing you to maintain control of the bar in your hand once wet. With that in mind, let's get started.

The SOOTHi was designed for use with water, but water can make its moisturizing layer alone very slippery. That’s why we built in a textured grip layer. The pumice and grit create micro-friction points that stay tacky when wet, so you can confidently handle the bar without dropping it.

Step 2

Step 2: Wet

Begin by rinsing the SOOTHi under warm water for a few seconds. This wetting activates the bar's moisturizing layer and softens it for a smoother application. While wetting the bar, we recommend also wetting your skin. This opens up your skin for rehydration and improves the SOOTHi's smooth application. Note that after wetting the bar, it will become slippery. To maintain a firm hold, grip the bar using its textured layer.

Wetting the bar does more than just clean it. Glycerin (our core moisturizing ingredient) activates with water, helping it soften and spread evenly across your skin.

Step 3

Step 3: Glide

Holding the bar firmly in hand, gently glide the SOOTHi across your skin, using smooth, even strokes. This process gently rehydrates your skin, reduces any skin redness or shaving irritation, and helps repair your outer skin barrier post shave. If you're using the SOOTHi as a daily moisturizer, simply wet any dry areas of your skin before application. If you begin to feel any drag or resistance, rewet the bar and your skin.

The SOOTHi is simple to use but surprisingly versatile. After shaving, apply it directly to damp skin using smooth, even passes. The bar easily contours to any patch of skin. It’s not just for your face. Use it on your neck, chest, or any other area you've shaved.

Step 4

Step 4: Store

Once finished, rinse and dry the SOOTHi to clean it for storage. When storing the bar, always place it flat on a clean surface. Always place the bar with the moisturizing layer facing up as its soft, absorbent texture can cause it to absorb surface residue over time. Also make sure the bar remains as dry as possible while stored for better wear and longterm product health. With proper storage, the SOOTHi will last for many weeks.

To extend the bar’s life, avoid leaving it submerged or sitting in pooled water. Excessive water exposure can swell and soften the bar over time, leading to premature wear. As a result, after each use, gently pat the bar dry and place it on a dry shelf, ledge, or soap dish with the grip layer facing down. The moisturizing layer is highly absorbent—so if it sits against a dirty shelf, washcloth, or anything wet, it might absorb it.

Have Questions? We're Here To Help

From caring for your skin with the SOOTHi to troubleshooting unexpected issues, we’re here to help every step of the way. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions, designed to give you clarity, confidence, and a smooth shaving experience so you can get set up and shaving the right way in no time.

The SOOTHi can be stored in your shower—on a ledge, shelf, or soap dish—or by your sink, depending on your routine.

No matter where you store it, always place the bar with the textured grip side facing down. This keeps the moisturizing layer elevated, allowing it to air dry fully between uses and preventing it from sitting in moisture, which can cause softening or premature wear.

Before storing, make sure the surface is clean and free of residue. The moisturizing layer is highly absorbent and may easily soak up leftover soap scum, oils, or debris—potentially contaminating the bar. A quick wipe of your storage spot helps keep the bar clean, effective, and lasting longer.

Yes. While the SOOTHi is designed primarily as an aftershave to complement the STROPPi’s smooth finish, its moisturizing formula also makes it an excellent daily skin conditioner.

To use it as a daily moisturizer, simply follow the same steps as you would after shaving: wet both the bar and your skin before application to activate the moisturizing layer and ensure smooth glide. As always, be mindful of storage—allow the bar to dry between uses to prolong its life and maintain performance.

With regular use, the SOOTHi is built to last up to 12 weeks.

You’ll know it’s time for a replacement when the moisturizing surface starts to lose its shape or feel less smooth to the touch. Of course, your experience might vary based on things like your water quality, shaving habits, or how you store the bar. If you notice unusual wear or have any concerns before the 12-week mark, please reach out to us here.

The SOOTHi is designed for clean-shaven or closely trimmed skin. While it can still benefit areas with facial hair by promoting healthier, smoother skin, it’s not recommended for use over dense or untrimmed hair.

If you do choose to use it on areas with facial hair, expect slightly faster wear over time due to increased friction. We also recommend rinsing the bar thoroughly after each use to keep the moisturizing layer clean and effective.

Yes—every product we make, including the SOOTHi, is formulated with sensitive skin in mind. It delivers a cooling, hydrating finish that soothes post-shave irritation and promotes a smoother, healthier complexion over time.

If you have acne-prone or reactive skin, the SOOTHi can still be a great fit. However, we strongly recommend washing your face beforehand to remove excess oil, dirt, or residue. Like many moisturizing products, the SOOTHi creates a protective layer on your skin—so for best results, start with a clean surface to avoid sealing in unwanted impurities.

Begin by watching this video to see a clear, guided overview of how the products in your bundle work together to elevate your daily shave from routine to ritual.

If you’re looking to go deeper, refine your technique, or simply have a few questions, explore the detailed step-by-step instructions and helpful product FAQs below. Each section is built to help you feel confident, comfortable, and in control from your very first shave.

Step-By-Step SANSNiK Shaving Bundle Instructions

Let's begin by diving into the step-by-step instructions on how to use both products in your SANSNiK Shaving Bundle. Below we've included all the information you could ever want or need to moisturize and soothe your skin the right way. Want to know even more? Explore our attached pro tips that dive even deeper into each step.

Step 1

Step 1: Set Up & Prep

Before your first shave, begin by activating your STROPPi. Rinse the bar thoroughly until it brightens in color and becomes slightly slippery, then pat it dry or allow it to air-dry completely to engage its natural cling. Once dry, press the bar firmly onto a smooth, non-porous shower surface at a comfortable shaving height. With the STROPPi mounted, prepare your skin by allowing warm water to soak in for several minutes. This softens hair, opens pores, and reduces irritation. Rinse your razor head under warm water to improve blade performance and lubrication pickup.

For the strongest, longest-lasting hold, make sure both the mounting surface and the STROPPi are completely clean and dry before mounting. Soap residue, mineral buildup, or moisture can reduce cling strength. If the bar ever loosens over time, simply rinse, dry, and remount—it will regain its grip once fully dry.

Step 2

Step 2: Strop & Shave

With your skin prepared, lightly wet the surface of the mounted STROPPi. Do not soak it. Using gentle pressure, run your razor head down the bar several times to build a smooth, gel-like coating on and between the blades. This layer creates a protective glide that reduces friction during shaving.Once coated, begin shaving using short, controlled strokes. Allow the razor to glide naturally without applying excess pressure. Re-strop as needed between passes and rinse your razor frequently to maintain consistent performance.

More pressure does not equal a better shave. If you feel tugging or resistance, re-strop your razor instead of pressing harder. A properly lubricated blade should feel smooth and effortless—especially on sensitive areas like the neck, jawline, and upper lip.

Step 3

Step 3: Soothe & Restore

After shaving is complete, transition to post-shave care using the SOOTHi. Rinse the bar under warm water for several seconds to soften the moisturizing top layer and prepare it for smooth, controlled application. At the same time, lightly wet your skin to improve glide and help the moisturizing ingredients absorb more effectively.Holding the bar by its textured lower layer, gently glide the moisturizing surface across your skin using slow, even strokes. This process helps calm irritation, reduce redness, replenish lost moisture, and support recovery of the skin barrier.

The SOOTHi is designed to absorb into damp skin. If your skin dries too quickly after shaving, lightly splash on more water before applying. Using the bar on dry skin can increase drag and reduce the effectiveness of the moisturizing layer.

Step 4

Step 4: Rinse, Dry & Store

When your routine is complete, rinse both products thoroughly to remove any remaining residue. Leave the STROPPi mounted in place and allow it to air-dry naturally between shaves, ensuring it remains clean and ready for future use.Rinse the SOOTHi, then dry it fully before storage. Store the bar flat on a clean, dry surface with the moisturizing layer facing up. Proper drying and correct orientation help preserve texture, prevent contamination, and maintain long-term performance.

Avoid storing the SOOTHi in standing water or on uneven surfaces. Prolonged moisture can soften the moisturizing layer prematurely and shorten the bar’s lifespan. A flat, dry surface with good airflow will keep the bar performing at its best for weeks.

Have Questions? We're Here To Help

From properly mounting your STROPPi to moisturizing your skin post-shave with the SOOTHi, we’re here to help every step of the way. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions, designed to give you clarity, confidence, and a smooth shaving experience so you can get set up and shaving the right way in no time.

This will depend greatly on your frequency of shaving. The SANSNiK Shaving Bundle For Men is designed to last for a minimum of 30 shaves. While most users find a typical replacement rate of around two months works best, we recommend replacing the bundle at the three-month mark regardless of visible wear or shaving frequency, as the product naturally begins to lose effectiveness over time.

Even if the kit still appears functional after three months, its materials will start to age in ways that can affect performance. You may notice changes in texture, especially with the STROPPi. By three months, the bar can begin to change texture or warp or peel away from its mounting position. These issue will reduce effectiveness and undermine mounting strength significantly. Your personal replacement cycle may vary depending on shaving habits and coverage areas, but to ensure optimal results, we suggest planning for a maximum lifespan of three months. If you find you’re replacing the bundle sooner due to an increased shaving schedule, selecting a more frequent subscription can help ensure you always have a fresh bundle ready for the best possible shave.

The STROPPi and SOOTHi included in the SANSNiK Shaving Bundle are designed to work together and last for more than 30 shaves.

Both products are formulated and tested to deliver balanced longevity, ensuring you won’t run out of one before the other under typical shaving routines. However, factors like shaving frequency, water quality, and storage conditions can affect wear over time. If you notice premature wear on either bar or experience any issues before the 30 shave mark, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly at the bottom of this page. We’re here to help and ensure you always get the best possible shaving experience.

For best results, we recommend mounting the STROPPi in an easy-to-reach area close to where you shave most often. If you shave facial hair, position the bar at head height to make re-stropping between passes simple and efficient.

The SOOTHi can be stored in your shower on a ledge, shelf, or soap dish. It can also be stored by your sink, depending on your routine.

No matter where you store it, always place the bar with the textured grip side facing down. This keeps the moisturizing layer elevated, allowing it to air dry fully between uses and preventing it from sitting in moisture, which can cause softening it or lead to premature wear.
